omanoil to supply national carrier Oman air and acquires majority market share in Local Aviation Industry

Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) has been awarded a fuel contract to supply the nation’s flagship carrier Oman Air, securing the Company’s leading strategic position with majority market share in the local aviation sector. The two year contract will be effective from March 2010 and will provide 60% of the carrier’s fuel requirements at Muscat International Airport.

Ahmad Kamal, General Manager of Aviation and Marine Fuels at Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) said, “Oman Air’s growing aviation fuel requirements given its strategic fleet and network expansion plans, reinforces our market-leading position which is founded on technical expertise, skilled personnel and strengthened airport presence.”

He added, “It gives us great pride to fuel our national carrier that is soaring to new heights, enabling two leading national brands to partner for the development of a robust domestic and international tourism industry in line with His Majesty’s Vision 2020. This agreement encourages us to greater efficiency and reactivity to demand while upholding the highest international quality service and HSSE standards."

With the increase in worldwide air traffic on both national and international routes, omanoil’s investment in technology and service innovation has bared fruit as it grows its unmatched roster of customers to include a wide range of commercial, government and private aircrafts including: Jet Airways, British Airways, Air Arabia, Air France, Thai Airways, Royal Air force of Oman and His Majesty’s Royal Flight of Oman.

omanoil has also recently acquired long-term fuel agreements with Saudi Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Kuwait Airlines and Tunis Airlines.
