OOMCO CELEBRATES TWO DECADES OF LEADING THE FUEL RETAIL INDUSTRY

Under the auspices of His Excellency Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, OOMCO CELEBRATES TWO DECADES OF LEADING THE FUEL RETAIL INDUSTRY.

The company reached 277 stations in Oman, KSA and Tanzania.

Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) celebrated its 20th anniversary in the fuel retail sector by reflecting on its success and a host of key milestones.  Under the auspices of His Excellency Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the leading Oman-based fuel marketing company brought together a host of its stakeholders to mark the special occasion. 

Hilal Ali Saif Al Kharusi, Chairman of Oman Oil Marketing Company, said, “Our journey has always been defined by putting the growth of Oman and its people first while we are a company of many firsts, we remain committed to aligning our strategy with the Oman Vision 2040. Over the years, OOMCO has consistently been taking the next strategic steps in the transformation of the fuel supply industry and we will continue to achieve more milestones for generations to come.”

Through a laser focus on quality fuel, strategic national and regional expansion, innovation, diversification, Omanisation, a green mindset, and supporting communities across the nation, customer-centric OOMCO has been at the forefront of transforming the fuel supply industry. Currently, OOMCO operates over 230 service stations locally, including 30 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and 12 in Tanzania international, which are among key growth markets for the company, which forecasts the total number of services stations to reach 308 locations.

OOMCO’s portfolio also includes a total of 86 service stations that include electric vehicle charging points. Moreover, 12 of these sites are powered by solar panels, while 24 service stations across Oman have a Vapor Recovery System, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of these sites. In addition, OOMCO signed a Partnership Agreement with Synergy Investment to establish Electrical Vehicles One, known as EVO. EVO is tasked with developing Oman’s electric vehicle infrastructure and supporting green mobility initiatives.

The gradual rollout of mega service stations and green stations in Oman is a glimpse into the future of service stations to offer a variety of services to inspire customers and meet and exceed their expectations.” 

One of OOMCO’s key milestones was being the first to launch mega service stations in Oman, including at Sultan Qaboos University, that provide customers with a one-stop-shop experience. The fully integrated service hubs include coffee shops, car care centres, convenience stores, retail stores, gyms, pharmacies, nurseries, ATMs. The company has always been a leader in curating solutions that are carefully designed to add value to its customers. To achieve this, the company has four subsidiaries in Oman, KSA, Tanzania, including OOMCO Marine Bunker Terminal at Port of Duqm, Ahlain International LLC which specializes in express retail services at OOMCO’s service stations.

Furthermore, OOMCO was the first to enable customers to pay for fuel through its app, National Subsidy System (NSS), establish a station for shipping fuel in Duqm, supply biodiesel to the company’s clients, and provide services along the Muscat Expressway. It is also the sole company that offers the high quality Ultimax 98-Octane fuel in Oman in over 100 locations. 

OOMCO cares about its customers, the natural environment, as well as the communities in which it operates. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, OOMCO has launched and supported several initiatives focusing on youth engagement, empowerment, and well-being in line with the goals outlined in the Oman Vision 2040. Over the past five years, the company invested approximately 800,000 Omani Riyals in CSR initiatives.
