Omanoil Breaks HSSE Record with 21 Years Of Safe Operations At Mina Al Fahal Distribution Terminal

Oman Oil Marketing Company’s Joint Venture Mina Al Fahal Distribution Terminal with Al Maha Petroleum has achieved a milestone of 21 years of safe operations without Lost Time Injury. The nation’s pioneering fuel and lubricants provider last reported an incident at the Terminal which resulted in reduced man hours over two decades ago. This pays testament to omanoil’s safety measures that are not only vigilantly enforced, but improved upon year-on-year. Renowned for successfully sustaining a zero harm work environment, omanoil continues to lead by example in the country’s oil and gas industry.

“Our Health, Safety, Security and Environment philosophy is a combination of culture and practice,” said Eng. Faisal Al Shanfari, omanoil General Manager of HR, Corporate Affairs, Procurement and HSSE. “We have a strong culture of looking out for one another in an aim to create a supportive, and therefore, productive work environment. Our employees translate this culture into practice by diligently assessing risks across our operations and analyzing existing safety standards to improve response tactics. We pride ourselves in our culture of safety which cascades throughout the entire business and evolves throughout the years, and we thank our employees for never failing to work without complacency to ensure the security of everyone on site.”

Operating 24 hours and seven days a week, the Distribution Terminal at Mina Al Fahal experiences an ever increasing movement of people and vehicles. With nearly 40 employees, a storage capacity of 55 million liters, 15 tankers and 180 trucks which are loaded daily, omanoil maintains the highest level of HSSE standards. Mandatory staff and contractor induction programs are regularly updated to include company and industry improvements, while internal audits, monthly meetings and the appointment of HSSE Champions further instill the concept of safe practices.
