Omanoil Joins Hands With Rekaaz To Launch “From Self Appreciation, I Declare Respect” Campaign

Muscat, April 30th 2011 – For the second consecutive year, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) has partnered with Rekaaz to identify and address underlying socio-behavioral concerns among young people by launching a three-month awareness campaign entitled "From Self Appreciation, I Declare Respect." The collaboration stems from the Company\'s commitment to youth engagement and empowerment, hallmarks of the nation\'s visionary fuel and lubricants marketing company.

Recently, renowned lecturer on Islamic moral values and behavior, Sheikh Suleiman Abdulaziz Al Jubailan from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, conducted an interactive lecture at omanoil’s Head Office for all employees.

“Respect promotes healthy relationships among youth and is an integral value that is ingrained in our company culture,” said Nabeel Al Ruwaidhi, General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Business Development and Procurement at omanoil. “The Rekaaz program is a direct response to the many global issues facing young people today and has been designed to offer opportunities for engaging with communities nationwide to increase the number of youth who are confident, responsible and independent members of society. The skills and values instilled can be applied to all facets of life to nurture a new generation of leaders.”

Ruwaidhi described \'respect\' as a deeply powerful characteristic that builds personality, enhances self-worth and effectively prevents violence and crime in addition to encouraging peaceful dialogue.

A non-profit foundation operating in the Arab world, Rekaaz implements systematic media awareness campaigns that aim to instill and further enhance moral values among Omani youth from the ages of 14 to 23. The 13th phase of the program is anticipated to reach more than 100,000 youth in Muscat, South Al Batinah and Salalah utilizing several tactics including the distribution of educational and motivational materials, practical lifestyle guides, short stories and CDs to a number of popular public locations.

Previous campaign efforts focused on the importance of personal and professional development in addition to living responsibly. A number of prominent motivational speakers and specialist are also scheduled to hold seminars during the three month campaign at a number of local schools, colleges, universities and shopping malls.
