omanoil holds users awareness and preperation workshop to introduce latest information system management platform

Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil), recently held a Users Awareness and Preparation Workshop to introduce its staff body to the latest Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that is envisaged to improve business efficiency and performance across all departments and business units.

The state-of-the art upgrade ‘Release 12 Version of Oracle ERP’ will serve as a comprehensive and integrated system for managing and optimizing overall corporate performance in an intelligent, agile and aligned manner by adding a number of essential modules including Enterprise Asset, Inventory and Purchasing Management.

Syed Noor Mahmood, IT Senior Manager at omanoil stated, “With the introduction of the latest’s cutting edge Enterprise Resource Planning System, we are moving away from older legacy systems and exploring more efficient methods of streamlining operations and unifying performance management capacities. This upgrade will support a broad range of strategic, financial and operational management processes in our ongoing pursuit of operational excellence.”

He added, “The new System will also provide us with greater business intelligence and functional insights in all areas of our operations from convenience store management to loading and distribution of fuel at the MAF Terminal. This will result in better decision making and enhance product and service deliverables, giving us an added competitive advantage and increased market leadership.”

Mohammad Al Barwani, General Manager of HR, Administration, IT and Optimization at omanoil, expressed that the Workshop was an ideal opportunity to brief members of the staff on the significance of the project and ensure its successful implementation by showcasing the fundamental role it will play in further building the image and brand name of omanoil as a progressive and modern corporation.

The Workshop revolved around a number of key operational disciplines including the Project’s roadmap and various phases of implementation, project organization structure, roles and responsibilities of core team members, preparatory steps, infrastructure requirements and critical success factors.
