OMAN OIL MARKETING COMPANY DONATES FUEL CARD VOUCHERS TO MEDICAL VOLUNTEERS FIGHTING COVID-19

Muscat, October 11 2020 – Dedicated to uplifting the community, particularly in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) has donated 60 fuel card vouchers to medical volunteers. The gesture is part of an initiative launched by the Oman Medical Association (OMA) called Ma’afa for Oman, which established a temporary hospital in Al Amerat to treat COVID-19 cases. The hospital, which consisted of 64 beds and included an intensive care unit, was staffed entirely by volunteer doctors, nurses and allied health workers from across the Sultanate. Presenting each volunteer with a fuel card worth OMR 50, amount-ing to OMR 3,000, Oman Oil Marketing Company aimed to honour their remarkable efforts and promote the spirit of volunteering.

“The ongoing pandemic has shown us, more than ever, the strength of our community, and it is humbling to see so many people unite for a common cause. At Oman Oil Marketing Company, we feel we have a role to play too, that extends beyond the fuel industry, and this is why we continue to find ways to reach out. These volunteers sacrificed their own personal time to put themselves on the frontlines, supporting the country’s health system during these exceptional circumstances, and we are forever indebted to them for their sacrifice,” said the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Oil Marketing Company.
