A total of 23 OOMCO service stations are now open in both Saudi Arabia and Tanzania
As part of its regional expansion strategy, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) recently opened many one-stop-shop service stations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Tanzania. By adding three new sites in Jeddah, Al Dhahran and Al Safwah respectively, OOMCO currently has 12 retail service stations in the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the Oman-based leading fuel marketing company also started operating its 11th service station in Tanzania, which will be its first site at the centre of the capital city, Dar es Salaam.
OOMCO’s stations are rapidly becoming a destination of choice for different type of fuel but also branded food, beverages, as well as other convenient items and quality automotive services as the company continues to grow ‘beyond the pump’. KSA and Tanzania are among key growth markets for the company with more and more service stations becoming available to customers in these two countries, which both have a long-standing bilateral relationship with the Sultanate of Oman.
Jaber Al-Wahaibi, Acting General Manager of International Retail at OOMCO who has been overseeing the project in Saudi Arabia, said, “During the recent 52nd National Day of the Renaissance, Oman celebrated all the factors that have been contributing to the nation’s economic growth. Our expansion strategy gives us the opportunity to not only boost our business expansion, but also leverage the strength of the ongoing bilateral trade relationship between Oman and Saudi Arabia.” He added, “We also continue to invest in Tanzania because of the country’s projected growth in the number of vehicles, as well as its positive macroeconomic outlook and stability.”
OOMCO aims to operate a total of 26 stations across KSA and 17 stations in Tanzania by 2023. To further facilitate this expansion, the company recently signed of a Memorandum of Understanding with Tamiyoz, a well-known real estate investment and development company based in Saudi Arabia. In addition to the branded service stations in operation in Saudi Arabia and Tanzania, OOMCO also operates a comprehensive network across the Sultanate of Oman, as it continues to prioritize customer-centricity in order to become one of the top five fuel marketers in the GCC by 2027.
