Oman Oil Marketing Company ‘Instills Culture Of Safety’ Among Children At Salalah Tourism Festival 2019

Under the motto ‘Safe Drive Safe Lives’, Oman Oil Marketing Company has taken its Road Safety Awareness Village to the Salalah Tourism Festival 2019. Designed to raise awareness among children and their families on road safety, more than 500 children enjoyed an innovative and interactive educational safety facility. As part of its efforts to spread vehicle safety awareness in local communities, this initiative is a joint collaboration between the company and the Royal Oman Police in the Governorate of Dhofar.

The Road Safety Awareness Village offered a hands-on educational destination for children to learn about safety in memorable ways. They were able to drive their own vehicles around a track within the 100-sqm-village and earn an Oman Oil Marketing Company road safety village driving license. They were briefed on road safety in general, emphasizing the importance of wearing seat belts, traffic lights, safe driving skills and other traffic rules before they drove their cars in the village.

The Road Safety Awareness Village is an educational center specifically designed to help minimizing threats to the safety and well-being of our most precious resource, our children. We are honored to join hands with the Royal Oman Police to instill a culture of safety among children at an early age and ultimately reduce road traffic accidents now and into the future.”

Motivating children to learn how to make smart choices from an early age in their daily lives, Oman Oil Marketing Company launched the Road Safety Awareness Village in 2018, in collaboration with Oman Safety Association. The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to spread vehicle safety awareness in local communities. After its successful debut in Muscat Grand Mall last year, this year, children visiting Salalah Tourism Festival get to enjoy a positive and interactive atmosphere, where they learn about seat belts, child seats, over speeding, road signs to name but a few.
