omanoil and bankmuscat award 2 million basma points during first draw of mass redemption promotion

With customers standing the chance to win an impressive total of 5 million basma points throughout two months, the nation’s first chip based multi-partner rewards program basma, has awarded 1 million points each to Sultan bin Said Al Alawi and Ashraf Moa’odh Taha during the first draw of the Mass Redemption promotion.

As part of the Program’s recent growth and expansion, customers can now conveniently redeem points and enjoy exclusive benefits at all merchant partners across the Sultanate.

Running until December 9th 2010, customers can easily participate in the basma ‘Mass Redemption’ promotion by redeeming points and automatically entering the draw at any of the Program’s 17 outlets. The final draw is scheduled for December 15th 2010, where three additional winners will also be awarded one million basma points each.

Established by Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) and BankMuscat in association with Lulu Hypermarket in 2005, the basmaRewards Program has revolutionized and significantly promoted the use of e-payments and smart cards for consumers various shopping needs as a key component of a modern cashless society.

As part of the basma Mass Redemption campaign, Cardholders can now enjoy the benefits of redeeming points on site at all 17 merchant partners to treat themselves with discounts, merchandise or services by making full or partial payments. Points will be automatically deducted with an option to complete the transaction with cash payment. Previously, points could only be collected at the various merchants and redeemed at omanoil filling stations and Lulu Hypermarkets.

To date, the diverse merchants list include: omanoil, Lulu Hypermarket, Mumtaz Mahal, Woodlands, Golden Oryx, Capital Stores, Damas, Zahara Travel, Avis, Easy Life, Ajmal, OHI Electronics, Welcare, Photocenter, Essence Spa, Ayana Spa and Bait Al Attar Al Arabi.
