omanoil signs aviation fuel agreement with Turkish Airlines - 27th Apr 09

Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil), the leading fuels and lubricants marketing Company in the Sultanate, has been awarded a key contract to supply jet fuel to Turkey’s largest domestic and international carrier, Turkish Airlines for their entire fleet of aircrafts landing at Muscat International Airport.

As the flag carrier of the Republic of Turkey, Turkish Airlines is a leading pan Middle Eastern carrier and it is posed to become a leading European service provider with its extensive global coverage, which currently covers the most sought after destinations around the world including Muscat; in addition to the airline’s renowned safety, reliability and distinctive standards and service offerings.

On the occasion, Ahmed Kamel, General Manager of Aviation and Marine at omanoil said, “Our new partnership with Turkish Airlines is a testament to our advanced aviation capabilities and is a strategic product of our long-term marketing partnership with Air BP, our first-class Jet A-1 aircraft refuelling vehicle. omanoil’s Aviation Department has extended its reach as it continues to attain key contracts with leading international carriers. Among them are the Company’s signing of a one year contract with Air Arabia recently, as well as the omanoil’s co-sponsorship with the Arabian Fuels Centre and Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company of the 11th GCC Aircraft Refuelling Forum which was held in Muscat. The Forum was an excellent expertise and information sharing opportunity which helped position the Sultanate as an internationally recognised regional aviation hub.

The department entered into a commercial and technical service agreement with Air BP, one of the largest fuel suppliers providing over 26 million tonnes of aviation fuels at over 1,000 locations in over 90 countries. omanoil aviation is currently one of the major aviation fuel suppliers in Oman represented currently in three locations across the Sultanate.
