Meeting the fuelling
demands of the world’s leader in heavy air cargo
Omanoil signs aviation fuel agreement with
Russian carrier Ruslan International Airlines
Muscat,
June 2010
Penetrating aviation fuel supply to major
air cargo carriers, Oman Oil Marketing Company
(omanoil) has recently been awarded a contract
for the supply of jet fuel to Ruslan
International Airlines (Volga Dnepr), the
world’s leading heavy air cargo charter
specialists. The one year contract will supply
their entire fleet of aircrafts landing at
Muscat International Airport and will be
effective from July 1st 2010.
Profoundly acclaimed by the international
aviation industry, Ruslan International Airlines
is a strategic joint marketing venture between
Ukrainian Anatov Airlines and Russian Volga
Dnepr Airlines, two of Eastern Europe’s most
prominent carriers. Based in the Western port
city of Ulyanovsk in the Russian Federation,
Ruslan International Airlines is a leader in the
movement of oversize cargo operations, using the
world’s largest fleet of Antonov AN -124
aircraft.
Ahmad Kamel Mahmud, General Manager of Aviation
and Marine Fuels at omanoil stated, “omanoil’s
integrated approach to fuel supply management
and its comprehensive logistical support at the
national airport offers the capacity to meet the
fuelling requirements of heavy cargo customers
such as Ruslan International Airlines, who
manage the largest serially manufactured
airplanes.”
Mahmud added, “Our operational readiness to
serve outsize cargo aircrafts will assist in
boosting the Sultanate’s air trade volume
levels, as larger quantities of goods can be
transported in one consignment instead of
multiple carriers with various flight routes,
avoiding delays and losses in essential
shipments.”
With more than seven new aviation agreements
acquired in the last two years, omanoil
continues to strengthen its industry stature as
market leader of the aviation fuel supply
industry in the Sultanate, and currently serves
a diverse portfolio of local and international
customers, including the Sultanate’s flagship
carrier Oman Air, Saudi Airlines, Royal
Jordanian, British Airways, Gulf Air, Jet
Airways, Royal Flight of Oman and Royal Airforce
of Oman.
Today, omanoil manages a sizable fleet of Jet A1
aircraft refueling vehicles of various
operational combinations, supplying jet fuel and
avgas gasoline to all sectors of the industry.
Supported by a long term strategic partnership
with Air BP, omanoil offers the finest
commercial, engineering and technical services
meeting the requirements of aviation customers,
while adopting and complying with the highest
HSSE standards in the aviation industry.
