Oman Oil Marketing Company
- Taking Safety to New Heights

With the recent re-branding
activities by Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO)
contractors have been working round the clock to
ensure timely completion of the Re-branding
project in a Safe and expeditious manner.
Transformation of the retail network has been a
challenging task, particularly since it involves
a spine-tingling combination of ‘working at
height’ with tools & equipment and working in
busy public locations with considerable traffic
movement.
The boost in construction activities has
necessitated a serious review on contractor’s
HSE (Health Safety and Environment) standards,
which were already at a level many companies
would be proud of. In line with OOMCO’s rigid
policies HSE & Engineering Manager, Naresh
Sujan, has taken the opportunity to enhance
contractors HSE standards, particularly since it
involves a combination of working at heights and
using tools and equipment in busy operating
locations. On this occasion, the focus of
attention has been the quality of scaffold
towers and installation techniques to ensure
workers Safety, with their principal signage
contractors Riam Signs and Al Awal Industries. A
recent meeting between OOMCO’s Naresh Sujan and
their HSE training provider, Kevin Doyle of HSE
Partenaire proved productive culminating in the
contractor’s commitment to upgrading their
standards for the Safety of their workers as
well as the public using the facilities around
their work areas. The contractors were commended
for their enthusiasm to make the changes.
“We have been privileged to work with
contractors who appreciate our commitment to HSE
standards and who wholly support us in making
constructive changes to their current
practices,” said Naresh Sujan. ”HSE is an area
that we at Oman Oil Marketing Company take very
seriously. We have an excellent reputation and
track record and are working hard to ensure that
it stays that way!”
The re-branding project will continue into the
New Year, with completion of the entire retail
network by mid summer. Progression seems to be
key for Oman Oil Marketing Company, not only in
looks but also in improving working standards,
practices and HSE practices for all its
employees and contractors. |
