OOMCO Provides Local
School with Learning Experience

Pupils from Al
Salam Private School embarked on a field trip with
a difference recently when 67 children from the
kindergarten with their teachers took a trip to
their nearby omanoil service station in Wadi Al
Bahais.
As part of an exercise to help pupils understand
‘real life’ businesses and every day practices
the school identified the omanoil service
station as a place many of the children might
visit with their families and friends. Knowing
the pride placed on the family car here in the
Sultanate, car washes are recognized as being
popular destinations at the weekends. Pleased to
provide children and teachers alike with a
little bit more knowledge as to how the car wash
facility worked, filling station staff at
omanoil were only too keen to help out.
The high technology European style car wash at
the omanoil filling station is the only one of
its kind in Oman – giving the outing a little
more of an edge. Demonstrating the adept
cleaning powers of the car wash the pupils were
able to experience first hand the mechanics of
this state of the art washing facility as the
supervisor described the merits of the patented
non-scratch foam brushes. Held in such high
estimations by omanoil, the car wash facility
offers customers a ‘money back guarantee’ if
they find their wash to be unsatisfactory.
“The car wash usually generates a bit of
interest from customers since it is the only one
of its kind in the country. However, we’ve never
had so many keen visitors in one go!” Laughed
Salim Shibiby from Oman Oil Marketing Company
(OOMCO) who supervised the visit. “This was also
a great opportunity to emphasis to the pupils
the important safety aspects associated with
filling stations. It’s not only moving vehicles
that can cause accidents; people using mobile
phones and smoking cigarettes present potential
danger hazards that constantly need to be
brought to the general publics’ attention. We’re
pleased we can help the local schools. Everyone
seemed to enjoy themselves and asked a lot of
questions.”
